Yes, amen Nathan. Great to ask for prayer. The enemy is hard at work, but gladly, He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world.

Brethren, your prayers are welcome, and needed.

If your pastors are actually telling you that the Bible teaches that the Sabbaths have truly been done away with, doesn't it seem strange to you that the Lord spoke of a time (post-cross) after the "gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come" (Study Matthew 24) that the Lord would instruct the people of God to pray that their flight (running away from the terror of the great tribulation of those days - verse 21) would not take place in winter or "on a Sabbath day" (verse 20)? Why would He continue to place such high importance to mentioning the Sabbath day, at the end of the age, when both Christian pastors and teachers alike claim it has been done away with along with the Lord's "appointed times" (moeds)? I wonder if He is wrong or if they are? If one does a study on this topic, prayerfully, and with an open heart, one can clearly see that God never gave the Sabbath and His yearly appointed times, or holy convocations (called by the Lord "His" feasts Leviticus 23:2) as a temporary ordinance rather, the Lord states four times within one chapter, when He gives His Feasts and affirms His Sabbaths that He established in Genesis 2, that they are to be statutes, "for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings" (Leviticus 23). One might want to argue that perhaps with respect to the term "for ever", the Lord, in this case, doesn't really mean for ever, because He actually meant to do away with it later? Yet never, in all of scripture does He tell us that He was going to do away with or replace the Sabbath, and never in scripture are we told that He (in any post-cross scriptures), did do away with it. Well, at the very least, if the Lord wouldn't tell us through the mouth of His prophets (Amos 3:7), you would think that He would clearly state once and for all, when continuously being questioned about the application of law regarding the Sabbath, that they need not bother with questions about the law regarding the Sabbath since the law and the Sabbath was going to be done away with (Matthew 5:17-20), when He rose from the dead. You might also think it strange that the disciples, and both Jewish and gentile believers continued to use terminology relating to the Sabbath and continued to go to the synagogues on the Sabbath day to hear the teachings of Moses that were taught every Sabbath day, and to teach and discuss the word of God, but it's true no matter what you might have heard from others (no matter what title they claim to themselves). Let us continue to look to God for our strength and our confidence. We are not in this alone, but have Him to look to in our times of distress. We can have confidence in Him to see us through even the times where we see no way through. May God be praised.

We must remember that we need not fear as God is for us and if God is for us, then who can be against us?

Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father.
    —1 Timothy 5:1
    Thoughts on Today's Verse...
There is an eagerness, passion, and a clear sense of purpose that can go with being young — headstrong, untested, and rash is how some who are older might describe it. There is a surety with age because of tried and true methods proven over time — staid, predictable, and unmovable is how some who are younger might describe it. These differences can cause tension and conflict; yet both have something to be learned from the other. No matter how mistaken an older Christian may be, he or she should be treated with the respect that comes from a life proven in faith. But older Christians must also be willing to receive correction from a younger one, especially if it is done prayerfully by a young believer who has demonstrated his humility, love, and respect toward those who are older.

    My Prayer...
O Eternal Father, God of my ancestors' history and the assurance of my future, please help me be a person of integrity, especially when I deal with those who are not of my age group. May I be respectful and careful with my tone as I speak with those who are older. May I be pliable and open to change when confronted with my errors by those who are younger. Most of all, Father, please lead those people into my life who will love me enough to forgive my errors and also love me enough to point them out to me and to help me grow beyond them. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
    —Isaiah 40:29
    Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Even the most pumped up and positive ones of us find ourselves broken and weary at some point in our life. It isn't so hard to believe and follow Jesus when we are soaring on the wings of eagles or running and not getting weary in our walk with God. Often the toughest time to keep our faith vibrant is when we are trying to keep putting one foot in front of the other while not fainting. In those moments of absolute powerlessness, weakness, and brokenness the Lord is often most real, most powerful, and most present.

    My Prayer...
Thank you, God, for sustaining me and keeping my faith alive when I have been under attack from the Evil One and have grown weary with the challenges and hardships of life. Please give those I love, and mention now by name, the strength to press on even though they are weary and weak. Please be real in their lives and let them know that you are coming with grace to help and redeem as their Great Deliverer. In Jesus' name I ask it. Amen.
